GenAI basics

The use of generative AI in education and research raises both opportunities and important concerns. In this 1-hour session, organized by the University Library, we will introduce the basic background of generative AI tools such as ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot, while taking a critical look at their limitations, risks, and impact on academic work. We will discuss issues such as reliability, bias, privacy, and academic integrity, and reflect on when (whether!) these tools can be used in literature search. Whether you are a student or a teacher, this session aims to provide a balanced perspective to help you engage with this rapidly evolving technology in an informed and responsible way.

This presentation is hosted in the Library of Science. If you cannot find the room, ask our hostess at the service desk.
