Easy computer based text-analysis with AntConc (no programming knowledge required)
Users with access to the gROW learning environment (those with a U/E-number) can find more information about workshops and courses offered by the Radboud Digital Competence Centre here. The gROW environment is the official location for these materials, and gROW is preferred to libcal for sign-ups and for exploring our materials. Follow this link to go directly to the gROW page for the current workshop. Users who are unable to access gROW are welcome to register using libcal. A overview of the currently scheduled digital methods trainings can be found on libcal after filtering by the category "DCC" (linked here for convenience).

Workshop Summary
Researchers in a range of fields (e.g. digital humanities or linguistics) commonly seek to quantify and understand features of a text which are not apparent without access to digital methods. This might include performing a word frequency analysis, examining co-occurrence statistics, or generally understanding where and in what context words appear in a given text. In this workshop, participants will learn to perform these types of analyses using AntConc. This tool does not require programming knowledge. The target audience is advanced students and researchers.
This session consists of one hour of instruction and 30 minutes of exercises. In the last half hour, participants will be able to analyze their own documents with help from the instructors. This is a great way to explore using AntConc for your own research!
