Content of the workshop

Start working with Zotero immediately. After this workshop you have learned to:

• select the citation style of your choice;
• add publications (information about journal articles, books etc.) to your library;
• add attachments to your library;
• cite as you write;
• create a bibliography based on your citations;
• search your Zotero library.

Necessary preparations

Please bring your own laptop and make sure you have arranged the following:

• installation of Zotero (https://www.zotero.org/support/installation)
• installation of the browser plugin (https://www.zotero.org/download/);
• installation of the Word plugin (https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_installation);
• installation and activation of Zotfile (http://zotfile.com/);
• optional: creation of a Zotero account (https://www.zotero.org). A Zotero account is not necessary to make use of Zotero, but without one you cannot make a backup of your data in the cloud.

Location & duration

EOS 01.570. Duration of the workshop is approximately up to an hour.

By default the language spoken during the workshop will be English, unless the attendants are all native Dutch speakers.

Inhoud van de workshop

Je gaat zelf aan de slag met Zotero. Na deze workshop kun je:

• de gewenste citeerstijl instellen,
• publicaties toevoegen (gegevens over artikelen, boeken etc.) aan je bibliotheek,
• bestanden toevoegen aan je bibliotheek,
• verwijzen naar bronnen terwijl je typt,
• een literatuurlijst maken vanuit je verwijzingen,
• zoeken in je Zotero bibliotheek.

Benodigde voorbereiding

Breng bij je eigen laptop mee en zorg ervoor dat:

• Zotero is geïnstalleerd (https://www.zotero.org/support/installation),
• de Zotero plugin voor je browser hebt geïnstalleerd (https://www.zotero.org/download/),
• de Word plug in is geïnstalleerd (https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_installation),
• Zotfile geïnstalleerd en geactiveerd is (http://zotfile.com/),
• Indien gewenst kan je ook een account aanmaken in de Zotero cloud (https://www.zotero.org). Dat is nodig voor een online backup van je gegevens, maar ook zonder account kan je Zotero gebruiken.
