Based on a simple case of a Mergers & Acquisitions research, you will be introduced to the possibilities of the databases available at this university to perform such a study.
Afterwards, the case-study is used to demonstrate how the 'M&A modules' Zephyr and Eikon work and you will learn to:
- create a dataset of deals;
- assign the variables you need;
- export the data to Excel.
The workshop will end with an introduction of the next step: using the dataset to retrieve additional data from Thomson Reuters Eikon or Orbis.
This latter subject will be dealt with in more detail in the support sessions 'Financials & equities in Eikon and Compustat: basics' and 'Getting started with Orbis'. It is highly recommended to attend (one of) these session as well!
The workshop will take place through Zoom. Duration: up to 1 hour. Language spoken: English
