Adobe Illustrator basics (FNWI)

 During this workshop, you will learn the basics of Illustrator and you will make (a start with) your own scientific poster. Prior knowledge on Adobe Illustrator is not necessary! 

To work with AI on a RU-managed device:
- RU-employees: call ICT (024-3622222). They will add you to the Adobe Creative Cloud so you can download AI and other Adobe products.

Students: at this time (Nov 1), no Adobe products are available on student workplaces.

To work with AI on a private computer:
- RU-employees can work with remote desktop: (please contact the ICT department if you experience problems).
- Students cannot get it for free. They can buy it with a discount on Surfspot:


This is a hybrid workshop: you can join in-person or online. If you choose online, you will receive a link shortly before we start.

Why Adobe Illustrator?
With this program, you create so-called 'vector pictures'. These pictures are not comprised of pixels, like JPG, but of vectors. This means you can blow it up to the size of the Erasmus tower, the quality remains the same! Besides, the possibilities of creating an illustration are endless!

Layers, vector files, navigation, lay-out
Create shapes, pathfinder, fill&stroke
Text boxes, gradient line, transparency, alignment
Specific topics
Image trace, Excel graphs, questions, requests
