Registration is required. There are 27 seats available.

Based on a simple case of a Mergers & Acquisitions research, you will be introduced to the possibilities of the databases available at this university to perform such a study.

Afterwards, the case-study is used to demonstrate how the 'M&A modules'  Orbis M&A and LSEG Workspace work and you will learn to:

  • create a dataset of deals;
  • assign the variables you need;
  • export the data to Excel.

The workshop will end with an introduction of the next step: using the dataset to retrieve additional data from LSEG Workspace or Orbis.

This latter subject will be dealt with in more detail in the support sessions 'Financials & equities in LSEG Workspace and Compustat: basics' and 'Getting started with Orbis'. It is highly recommended to attend (one of) these session as well!

The workshop will take place on campus in the Elinor Ostrom building. The exact location will be communicated shortly before the workshop. Duration: up to 1 hour. Language spoken: English.
