Sharpen Your Search Skills

Looking to boost your literature search skills or refresh techniques you haven’t used in a while? Join one of our monthly workshops designed to help students, teachers, and researchers from the Nijmegen School of Management to search smarter, faster, and more effectively.

In each one-hour session, we’ll take a deep dive into practical strategies for finding high-quality academic literature. From crafting powerful search strings to navigating key databases, you’ll get hands-on tips you can apply immediately to your coursework, teaching, or research projects.

Topics include:
• Building and refining search strings
• Effective use of Boolean operators (AND/OR/NOT)
• Phrase searching, masking, and truncation techniques
• Exploring major databases such as Web of Science, EconLit, GreenFILE, Business Source Complete, and Google Scholar
• Managing search results and staying up to date on new publications

📍 Location
Workshops will predominantly take place in the Elinor Ostrom Building. The exact room will be shared with registered participants one day before each session.

🌐 Language
Workshops are offered in English unless all participants are native Dutch speakers -  in which case the session can be conducted in Dutch.
