“Every upside has a downside”: with the open access movement, predatory publishers arose to get scientists' money without offering a decent publication process. You might think you are able to recognize a questionable publisher. You might think your supervisor knows what journals are okay. You might think Elsevier does not have journals like that. Think again! In this presentation we will show you the nifty ways in which publishers try to make even more money out of your research at the expense of the carefully established academic publication process. We will also give you tips to make sure you will not publish in such a journal nor attribute to these practices.
