Tools to support (systematic) reviews, on campus, EOS 01.740
Are you conducting a (systematic) literature review and looking for ways to streamline your workflow? This workshop will introduce essential (digital) tools to enhance your review process—helping you identify relevant literature, manage references, and efficiently screen publications. While these tools won’t replace research skills, they will support you with specific tasks within your review process.
We will explore a variety of tools, including:
- Search strategy development tools - to help you find relevant academic sources.
- Reference management software (e.g. Zotero, EndNote) - for organising and citing references.
- Machine learning screening software (e.g. AS-Review) - to efficiently select relevant publications.
- Coding tools (e.g. Atlas.ti) - to analyze your publications based on coding.
During the workshop, a member of the Digital Competence Centre (DCC) will be present. In addition to demonstrating some of the tools mentioned above, the DCC will introduce some text extraction and text mining tools.
There are so many tools out there that promise to automate most of your work, or even perform miracles with the help of AI. This session will provide an opportunity to share experiences with other researchers and discuss which of the promises are genuine and which are not.
Who can attend?
- Researchers and (external) PhD candidates of the Nijmegen School of Management
- Especially useful if you are planning or starting a literature review
- Counts as 2 hours in your Training and Supervision Plan, see TPS template "Method related training".
Part of a series:
This is the third in a series of three workshops on information skills for researchers. We recommend attending the first and second session before joining this one.
